Priorities as Mayor

Strengthen the Local Economy

• Collaborate with investors to identify and develop shovel-ready properties that can quickly transform into vibrant spaces for businesses and housing.

• Partner with developers, businesses, and community leaders to build a thriving, sustainable economy that benefits all Torrington residents.

Invest in Infrastructure & Roadwork

• Establish a comprehensive road maintenance plan that focuses on pothole repairs, resurfacing, and repaving of deteriorating roads throughout the city.

• Work with state officials to secure funding for major improvements while creating a transparent project schedule so residents and businesses know what’s happening and when.

Support Public Safety

• Ensure adequate staffing and funding for police, fire, and emergency services.

• Coordinate with state and federal agencies to ensure first responders are equipped with the most up-to-date technology, training, and resources.

Invest in Youth & Education

• Establish quarterly meetings between the City Council, Board of Finance and Board of Education to share updates on budgeting and capital projects.

• Work with the Board of Education to publish regular performance reports on student achievement, school climate, and resource allocation.

Ensure Transparency & Accountability

• Publish a detailed annual budget online and break it down for easy access, so residents can see where tax dollars are being spent.

• Launch a monthly newsletter from the Mayor’s office that includes key updates, upcoming initiatives, and how citizens can get involved.
